Manish Sisodia, a jailed leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Education Minister of Delhi, has written a letter calling the lack of educational qualification of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “dangerous” for India’s progress. Sisodia claimed that Modi does not understand science or the importance of education, and alleged that 60,000 schools have been closed in the country over the last few years. Sisodia argued that it is necessary to have an educated prime minister for India’s progress. Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February 2023 in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
