Days after a killer, described by the US authorities as “extremely dangerous”, escaped from prison in Pennsylvania, the authorities published the strange method of his escape from prison.
State forces said Danilo Souza Cavalcanti, 34, who was serving a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend, escaped from the Chester County Jail a week ago.
On Thursday, police in Chester County released a video from inside the prison, showing the strange moment Cavalcanti escaped.
According to the video, and in the absence of the guards, Cavalcanti went in the video to two close walls, and climbed them lightly and skillfully, placing his body horizontally, to continue climbing on the wall in this way until he reached the top.
Since his escape, the killer has been spotted at least four times within a two-mile radius of the town of Bukobson, with local police responding to more than 100 reports from residents.
The Pennsylvania State Police said it brought in additional technology and personnel to assist in the manhunt, including playing a recording of his mother’s voice “asking him to surrender in peace” as the sound is released from a helicopter combing the area.
Cavalcanti was convicted on August 16 of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death, as he inflicted 38 fatal stab wounds on Deborah Brandao in front of her two young children in 2021.
