Manhunt for man who shot four people in Washington; suspected shooter deceased | Abroad

The man, Raymond Spencer, allegedly shot at random victims from his apartment near a prestigious school and two universities. Three injured people were taken to hospital, including the 12-year-old girl. The condition of two of them, both adults, is said to be critical but stable.

Police identified the man from a video he posted on social media, which allegedly showed shots being fired. The video had the – misspelled – caption “School shooting”.

The Connecticut Avenue-Van Ness neighborhood went into lockdown during the police operation. Several homes were evacuated and searched.

When officers finally raided the alleged perpetrator’s home, he allegedly took his own life. Several weapons and a large amount of ammunition were found in his apartment. His motive is not yet known.
