Manhattan shooting leaves one dead, three injured – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – A man was killed and three others were injured in two separate overnight shootings in a Manhattan neighborhood, police said.

The gun violence began in Chelsea at around 10pm on Saturday when a suspect shot and left a man dead West 25th Street. A man and woman in their 30s were also injured but should survive, police said. Both were shot in the leg.

It is not yet known what led to the shooting, but investigators identified the victim as a 42-year-old man from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. In January, sources said he had a previous gun charge for an incident just two blocks from the scene of Saturday’s shooting.

At least seven shell casings were collected at the scene. The suspected shooter wore a white hoodie and fled in a car, police said.

Hours later, at around 3:30am, more gunfire erupted in Chelsea. Police responded to a shooting a few blocks away West 23rd Street to find a 32-year-old man shot in the chest.

He’s being treated at Bellevue Hospital. There were also no arrests of suspects in this shooting.
