NEW YORK — An allegedly barricaded man exchanged gunfire with New York City Police officers in broad daylight Thursday at a Manhattan residence, police sources and city officials said.
The incident took place at a residence at 206 Eldridge Street around 11:53 a.m., according to sources.
A senior law enforcement official told NBC New York that officials sent a drone to the suspect’s room to locate him at the residence. However, he allegedly knocked him down with a broomstick.
The NYPD also called its Emergency Services Unit who sent a robot to the scene, according to a police official, who added that the suspect shot at the robot and the Emergency Services Unit officers.

Police were looking for the suspect because of his connection to a shooting that took place on Nov. 19, according to officials.
