Aisha Al-Naqbi, Emirati plastic artist, passionate about surreal art, finds in it a way to express the reservoirs of the mind and dive into the depths of the unconscious, and try to show them to the public in her artistic style, to move away completely from the reality and go without limits or restrictions, drawing mysterious images and symbols closer to the imagination, through the technique of «The art of manga, or Japanese comics that deal with various topics, cultural, economic, social and even science fiction.

Aisha got her start in the cartoon world, drawing her favorite characters, and was able to deviate from the big picture that some art might have put into her imagination. She sees art as her approach in which she finds an outlet to express a feeling of a situation, an event or a moment of contemplation and immersion, then navigates with her brush which gives her absolute freedom to transform scenes stuck in its depths into paintings full of details. He says: “I always express my feelings and thoughts by drawing the characters in a certain environment, so that the idea I want to communicate becomes clear. I am looking forward to using my artistic skills to produce paintings that have a distinctive local character. which reflects the customs, traditions and identity of the Emirates “.

Al-Naqbi talks about experimenting with different artistic methods such as realistic drawing, “anime” drawing and other methods that help the artist’s visual nourishment and the diversity of his sources of inspiration, which are not limited to just visualization, but also to the analysis and deduction of the elements of the work and its development. Regarding the electronic panels that simplified the task of drawing, Al-Naqbi says: “Digital drawing has provided a wide range of tools and skills that have helped to save the artist time, effort and money. Through this technology , he can print his works on different products, such as mugs, clothes and bags, unlike the traditional drawing, which takes longer to repeat the designs.

Regarding the contrast between the technical art and the traditional method of drawing, Al-Naqbi believes that the essential difference is the difference in the means used to produce the work, as traditional drawing uses paper, pens and colors, while the digital drawing uses modern techniques, so the speed and accuracy of the work vary and the original piece is traditionally drawn, more valuable print or digital art.

Aisha Al Naqbi participated in The Gamers Hub exhibition, in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Youth Council and the Federal Youth Foundation, through a live drawing of people from the audience, “Portrait” in less than 10 minutes. He presented a workshop in the “Masterpieces” corner of the Ministry of Education at the Sharjah International Book Fair through direct drawing of children’s comics, and also participated in the Middle East Film & Comic Co exhibition, which is held annually in Dubai, and shines on picture books and science fiction, fantasy and TV movies.
