Mandy Geyman was diagnosed with breast cancer at 17 weeks pregnant. Despite the difficult treatment she had to undergo, this American mother never stopped fighting for life and now claims that her little daughter is a true warrior.
On her Instagram account, Mandy indicated that it was difficult when she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer during her pregnancy, but the little girl in her womb always persisted despite the flood of treatments she had to receive.
“2 bleeding episodes, 3 rounds of antibiotics, 3 breast ultrasounds, a breast biopsy, a cancer diagnosis, lung x-ray, liver ultrasound, 5 MRIs, port placement surgery, 13 rounds of chemotherapy, a urinary tract infection, yeast medication, countless oncology appointments, OB / GYN appointments, high risk OB / GYN appointments, gestational diabetes. And yet: she persisted”.
The mother highlighted that together with her family they are very excited to present “the little warrior and the strongest woman we know”, her second daughter Hope (Esperanza), who was born on June 10 with “36 weeks and 6 days of gestation ”.
“She is doing great and we are beyond ecstatic to finally have her in our arms,” he said.
Mandy noted that now it is her turn to continue this cancer journey alone, but she is so grateful that little Hope was with her during the “cancer diagnosis in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“When Matt (her husband) couldn’t be there due to restrictions … she was there. When I was ‘alone’ on the MRI machine … she was there. When I sat in the chemotherapy chair for the first time … she was there. She gave me an incredible gift that I will never forget and that I will always cherish, ”he added.
In addition, she noted that together with her husband they had been praying for years to give a sister to their eldest daughter, because “I wanted her to feel and experience that love and bond between brothers that I, as an only child, had longed for all my life.”
Mandy noted that they received the long-awaited message in October 2020 and fought hard to bring the little girl into the world.
“Miraculously, our amazing baby warrior arrived safe, beautiful, and safe in June. And so I am overwhelmed with gratitude to say … Happy National Sisters Day to my TWO amazing girls, ”Mandy stated on August 1.
