This evolution of the health protocol for access to overseas territories was decided at the Defense and National Security Council on Thursday.
A Covid-19 detection test will be mandatory in July and August before arriving overseas, but there will be no more “fortnight” or from “septaines” imposed on arrival, announced, Friday, June 12, the Ministry of Overseas. This evolution of the health protocol to access overseas territories was decided at the Defense and National Security Council on Thursday, “in view of the favorable development of the Covid-19 epidemic overseas”, the ministry said in a statement.
It concerns all the overseas territories, with the exception of the Pacific communities, which are autonomous in matters of health. These new measures will be implemented more precisely when the law on the end of a state of health emergency comes into force “no later than July 10”.
An experiment to lighten these measures is already underway in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. Passengers are invited to carry out an RT-PCR test, in the 72 hours preceding the flight, to detect the Covid-19. Those who have a negative result can fly, and must perform a seventy on arrival, followed by a new RT-PCR test. If this second test is negative, the quarantine is reduced.
Starting June 22, “the experiment could be extended to other territories”, the compelling reasons for travel will be removed, the number of passengers per flight will be uncapped and the number of flights will be gradually increased in agreement with the elected representatives of the territories, said the ministry.
