Number of viewers MotoGP Mandalika 2022 abandoned in west parking Mandalika Circuituntil Sunday (20/3) midnight.
They couldn’t go home because there was no shuttle bus coming to pick them up.
Quoted from Antara, the Mandalika MotoGP spectators at the Mandalika Circuit were taken using a shuttle bus from the former Selaparang Airport to the west parking lot or the Nurul Bilad Mosque.
After the race, the spectators went out to the shuttle bus pick-up location.
However, not all spectators can be transported by bus. Even until midnight there were still some stranded spectators at the pick-up point.
Sandi, a resident of Mataram City, said he left the circuit area on foot at around 19:00 WITA.
After that, he walked to the parking area with other spectators, because there were no buses.
After walking for a while, he hitched a ride with another driver who was passing towards the west parking area.
However, after arriving there until 23.51 WITA there was no bus that came to pick up the spectators to the former Selaparang Airport.
“Many of my friends are still waiting at the Nurul Bilad Mosque, there is no bus yet. Had to go home at night,” said Sandi in Mandalika, Sunday (20/3) quoted from Antara.
The Mandalika Regional Police Chief AKP Dimas confirmed the presence of the Mandalika MotoGP spectators who were still stranded in the western parking area.
“It has been monitored, efforts are being made to take them back to Mataram City,” Dimas said as quoted by Antara.
Previously, the traffic flow on the highway in front of the Mandalika Circuit was completely jammed, some vehicles seemed to be moving slowly, so officers had to work extra hard to regulate traffic flow so that it was normal.
In addition, some spectators had to walk to the parking area, because the shuttle bus was also stuck in traffic.
