Ivan Ortola took a pole Grand Prix Moto3 Mandalika 2024 after defeating Collin Veijer in the preparatory round, Saturday (28/9).
Ortola created a lap record at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit for the Moto3 class with a time of 1 minute 37.332 seconds. The MT Helmets MSi racer was 0.257 seconds ahead of Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP powered Veijer.
David Alonso, who has a chance to become the 2024 Moto3 world champion at the Mandalika Circuit this weekend, failed to secure a starting position at the front of the grid. The Colombian racer will start from fifth place, behind Taiyo Furusato and Adrian Fernandez.

Alonso’s closest rival, Daniel Holgado, was given a worse starting position. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 racer will start from the 14th position.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian racer who has wild card status in Moto3 Mandalika Pertamina 2024, Fadillah Arbi Aditama, will start from the 22nd position. Arbi recorded a best time of 1 minute 38.987 seconds.
