Mandalika Circuit Agenda After MotoGP 2022

The Managing Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) Priandhi Satria confirmed that: Mandalika Circuit don’t just stop at the title MotoGP. The Mandalika Circuit will still hold a number of major events this year.

Priandhi said that the World Superbike (WSBK) event will resume in November 2022. In addition, the MGPA is trying to hold another race which is in the contract finalization stage.

“There is WSBK towards the end of the year in November. From today until WSBK, we are exploring [ajang lain]. But nothing has been confirmed yet because they are still adjusting the racing schedule abroad. So it’s not that easy either,” Priandhi told CNNIndonesia.comWednesday (23/3).

Priandhi said MGPA had contacted representatives of several racing events to come to the Mandalika Circuit. He is optimistic that MotoGP is not the only race on the 4.3 km long track.

“We’ve contacted them so we can allocate time. So we’re continuing to negotiate and trying to get something done before the end of the year. But it’s not easy [prosesnya],” said Priandhi.

Priandhi also commented on the possibility of the GT World Challenge Asia being held at the Mandalika Circuit. Priandhi stressed that the supercar race was only to complete the final stages of the contract agreement.

On the official GT World Challenge website, the series at the Mandalika Circuit will be held on October 21-23 2022.

“They have confirmed it, but we haven’t signed a final contract yet. We will follow up with them today about the certainty. They proposed September,” said Priandhi.
