“Manchester will be where it belongs”

Fans and experts are already looking forward to the new Premier League season. Manchester United, who have a lot to make up for after the past season, should enjoy particular attention. Cristiano Ronaldo is at least in good spirits.

On the club’s own website, CR7 first looked back and thanked those who always performed at the top level in the past season: the fans. “What I have to say to the fans is that they are incredible. Even when we lost the game, they always support us, they are always with us,” said Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo then spoke about his achievements as a singles player. The Portuguese became the FIFA all-time leading goalscorer after scoring a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur in March.

The attacker commented almost unimpressed that he has now scored over 800 career goals. “Records come naturally. I don’t follow records, but records follow me, so it’s good.”

United fans are hoping that success will find its way into the entire Red Devils team again next season. Ronaldo has no doubts about that, as he goes on to say. After all, individual awards are all well and good.

“But the most important thing for me is trying to win the games and trying to win a league or a cup, but I believe Manchester will be where they belong.” However, Ronaldo asks for a little patience. “Sometimes it takes time, but I still believe in it.”
