Manchester United’s Opportunity to Get Antony is Very Big

Apart from Antony, Erik ten Hag is also targeting several names to strengthen Man United’s attack line.

Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Antony, with the Brazil winger determined to reunite with Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils have held informal discussions regarding the 22-year-old but have yet to make an offer to Ajax.

Ten Hag are looking to add to the attack that has lost Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard this summer, while Mason Greenwood continues to be unavailable due to legal matters. Antony has made it clear that he wants to join his former manager at Old Trafford.

The forward has a strong relationship with Ten Hag after the two worked together at Ajax, winning two Eredivisie titles and the Dutch Cup.

Ten Hag remains a huge admirer of Antony and identified him as a target during a meeting to discuss a transfer with Man United director of football, John Murtough, in Amsterdam last month.

Darwin Nunez is another target being discussed, but Man Utd are pulling out of a move for the Uruguayan who has signed for Liverpool in a deal that could be worth £85m.

While Man Utd sources insist they do not want to get into a bidding war with their fierce rivals, Nunez has also set his heart on Anfield.

Antony’s preference this summer is a move to Man Utd, which should also convince Frenkie de Jong that he should move from Barcelona to Manchester.

Ten Hag wants five new players in his first transfer window at the club – with midfield his priority. De Jong is a prime target, with Christian Eriksen also wanted.

Attack is the next position Ten Hag is looking to tackle, with Antony at the top of his wanted list, while he is also an admirer of RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku.

Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries has been identified as a potential right-back, while attention now turns to Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez, with club mate Jurrien Timber unlikely to move on.
