Manchester United already locked one place in the FA Cup final. Victor Lindelof felt an incredible sense of relief.
When playing at Wembley, Sunday (23/4/2023) evening WIB, MU won over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup semifinals. After a 0-0 draw for 120 minutes, MU won on penalties 7-6.
Lindelof was the decisive factor for MU’s victory in the goalkeeping competition. The Seagulls kicker before him, Solly March, instead directed the ball away from the crossbar.
Be decisive IN and successfully netted the ball, Lindelof also felt great relief. The direction of the ball from the Swedish defender was difficult for the goalkeeper to reach, towards the top right corner.
“It feels great (to score a penalty. This is a great relief. And we are happy to get to the final,” Lindelof said as reported by the BBC.
“I had confidence and I knew the penalty I wanted and that’s what I did,” he added.
MU’s clean sheet record against Brighton also made Lindelof happy. Moreover, MU had just been beaten by Sevilla with a score of 0-3 in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.
“We defended well. Brighton played well. They were confident with the ball, but it feels good to keep a clean sheet,” said Lindelof.
IN will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final this season. The match will take place at Wembley on June 3, 2023.
