Manchester United’s Humiliating Loss to Brighton at Old Trafford

Manchester United lose again. Playing at home, MU was humiliated by Brighton with a final score of 1-3.

MU started aggressively. Christian Eriksen’s pass at Marcus Rashford was continued with a stab from the left side of the penalty box. However, Rashford’s finish was thwarted by Jason Steele with his feet.

Brighton still beat MU 1-0, which lasted until half-time.

After the restart, Rashford continued to trouble Brighton’s defense. Rashford accelerated on the left wing, then entered the penalty box before firing a hard shot. The ball just lodged on the outside of Brighton’s goal net.

GOAL! Brighton stole another goal after receiving pressure. Pascal Gross beat Andre Onana to increase Brighton’s lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute.

From the left wing, Kaoru Mitoma’s collaboration with Tariq Lamptey produced a horizontal pass that penetrated the MU defense. Gross found a gap in the penalty box, then fired a low shot into the middle of the goal.

Brighton seems to have locked in its victory over MU. In the 71st minute, Brighton scored their third goal and changed the score to 3-0.

Lamptey freely penetrated MU’s right wing, then sent a pass to Joao Pedro. In the penalty box, Joao Pedro finished with an accurate right-footed kick.

MU immediately responded to score a goal. Hannibal Mejbri scored MU’s first goal so the position changed 1-3 in the 73rd minute.

Lisandro Martinez’s pass found Mejbri in front of area D. Mejbri immediately fired a right-footed shot into the top corner of Brighton’s goal.

In the 79th minute, Brighton almost scored an additional goal. Mitoma was free in the penalty box while being shadowed by Victor Lindelof. At the near post, Mitoma shot a shot but it was saved by Andre Onana.

Onana made another save. Joao Pedro played deep to feed Evan Ferguson. The latter player responded with a horizontal shot, which aimed at Onana.

Even though they were ahead, Brighton was still eager to score another goal. In injury time, Ansu Fati troubled MU’s defense even though his shot was still off target.
