The decision is expected to be made as soon as the sale of a 25% stake in the club to British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe is completed.

How reports The Sun, the former Chelsea head coach has found himself in the sphere of interest of Manchester United.

Once the deal is completed, Jim Ratcliffe will gain control of the club’s sporting operations. It is noted that Ratcliffe has already met with Graham Potter.

The club is upset by the failure in the Champions League – Manchester United took last place in the group with Bayern, Copenhagen and Galatasaray – but at the moment they are not going to part with the Dutch specialist Erik ten Hag. Resignation will follow only if ten Hag fails to improve Manchester United’s results.

At the same time, Erik ten Hag, apparently, will not remain unemployed for long. Journalist for the German publication Bild Jan-Aage Fjortoft writes that Borussia Dortmund is watching ten Hag. The yellow-blacks are in fifth place in the championship, 11 points behind first place. If the Dutchman is fired, Borussia may sign a contract with him.

In the English Premier League, Manchester United is in sixth place in the standings after 16 rounds, 10 points behind leading Liverpool.

Graham Potter previously coached two Premier League clubs – Brighton from 2019 to 2022 and Chelsea last season. At the time of the 48-year-old Englishman’s resignation, the London club was 11th in the standings.
