Donny van de Beek is looking forward to his rental period at Eintracht Frankfurt. The midfielder, who was hired from Manchester United, was on the training field for the first time this week with his new teammates and was introduced to the German press on Wednesday afternoon.

Van de Beek thinks that his playing style suits him well at Frankfurt. ‘I think how I look at football and what I stand for as a football player fits well with the way the team wants to play. That was crucial for me,” said the nineteen-time international, who is not yet planning a return to the Dutch national team. ‘The most important thing is that I get around to playing here, then we’ll see what happens.’

Van de Beek also did not want to dwell too long on his difficult period at United, where he had little time to play. He prefers to look ahead. “I am fit, I have trained hard at United in recent months,” he assured. ‘I feel good physically. Of course every player needs match rhythm to get the best out of themselves, but I’m not worried about that. I’m fit, that’s the most important thing.’
