Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho explained the pride he and his family feel after signing a new contract on Friday.
Holding a pen on the new contract, Argentinian representative Garnacho shared his feelings in his first English-language interview with MUTV’s Mark Sullivan.
“Thank you, I am so proud of you.”
Garnacho began by congratulating himself on the new contract.
“Good day for me and my family. And a lot of effort has been put into this moment.”
“I would like to first thank the manager for giving me the opportunity. Of course, I want to thank my family, all the academy coaches, and everyone who has helped me so much.”
“Without their support, I would not have been able to sign a new contract here.” Garnacho, who has been sidelined since picking up an injury against Southampton in February, shared some positive news yesterday that he has returned to training with the team.
“It was a positive season for me.”
“I scored the first goal and helped the team win the first trophy. It’s been an extraordinary year, but it’s just the beginning. We have to keep working and there is more to do.”
Garnacho, a teenage prospect who made his debut exactly 12 months before signing a new contract on Friday, has already come a long way in his short time.
“I would like to thank the Manchester United fans for their incredible support.”
“Hearing my fans call my name means a lot to me.”
“And I give 100% to the team every day. I want to tell you that I want to make my fans happy.”
A longer interview with Alejandro, conducted in Spanish, will be available next week on ManUtd.com and the official Manchester United app.
