“No Bruno, no party!”
Where would Manchester United be without its talisman? Certainly not second in the Premier League and not even in the top four, according to Jason Cundy.
.
Fernandes has been a revelation since joining Sporting Lisbon in January 2020
Bruno Fernandes added to his astonishing Manchester United stats as they ripped apart Real Sociedad in the first leg of their 32nd Europa League clash.
The Portuguese scored the Red Devils’ first two goals, while strikes from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James sealed the 4-0 rout in Turin.
Matt Holland picked Rashford as Man United’s most important performer on talkSPORT 2 commentary, however, Cundy has no doubts that Fernandes is still the star man at Old Trafford.
But Cundy believes Fernandes is indispensable by his side and the talkSPORT host is worried for them if the 26-year-old were to have a long absence.

Fernandes spearheaded Man United’s victory on Thursday as he has done so many times before
He told the Sports Bar: “If Bruno don’t show up United don’t show up… he’s such a good player and he keeps them going.
“You worry about United. If there were to be five / six games where maybe picking up an injury, a suspension or even a lack of form… over the past 12 months he has been amazing, possibly the most consistent player in the Premier League. United are not so great without him.
Cundy went on to say how Man United’s dependence on the fantastic Fernandes reminds him of when Eden Hazard was at Chelsea.
Hazard was Chelsea’s star player for several years before completing a major transfer to Real Madrid in 2019, and Cundy believes Man United fall into the same trap of becoming dependent on a man.

Hazard was arguably the Premier League’s best player for much of his Chelsea career
He added: “Kevin De Bruyne just got out of Manchester City, you wouldn’t know. If Bruno is absent on United’s side for the same length of time, United can sense it. This is what I mean, they are so addicted.
“They wouldn’t be in the top four without him.
“I saw him in my club with Eden Hazard. No Eden Hazard, no party. We were so dependent on him that it was literally keeping the ball for as long as we could and giving it to Eden and he would do something – he would give you a goal.
“You can’t keep coming to Bruno and say, ‘please continue, give us another goal,’ he got the equalizer against West Brom so you need someone else to. come but it does not happen.
“He literally dragged them to second place in the table, they are not the second best team in the country… no Bruno, no party!
