‘Manchester United Trash’ – BBC Apologizes Post-Incident Running Texts

The BBC has released an apology after an incident where running text that read “Manchester United are rubbish” flashed at the bottom of the screen during their morning news broadcast.

The unusual running text appeared during the coverage of the Roland Garros tennis Grand Slam, Tuesday (24/5) at 09:30 local time.

The British news agency only realized their mistake a few hours later. The apologizing presenter, Annita McVeigh, explained that the error occurred because someone was new to the system of using running text.
