Mauricio Pochettino was considered the main rival of this Hague. The Argentinean held talks with the Manchester United authorities. His agents were to discuss the details of the contract later this month.

Ultimately, however, the club’s decision was different. Pochettino found out about her from the media. The Athletic says the Argentine was surprised by Manchester United’s choice.

The current PSG coach was supposed to feel very confident – he was convinced that he would receive an offer to lead the “Red Devils”. He established relations with the club in 2018, when he participated in a meeting with Ed Woodward.

The 50-year-old was preparing to take up a new position. He was to collect information about the city, the structure of the club or the character of Manchester United’s players.

What made Pochettino not getting the offer? Apparently he fared poorly during the conversation with the heads of MU. He was supposed to openly talk about who should leave or what money is needed for transfers. It ended up that no one from Old Trafford contacted PSG to even probe under what conditions the Argentine’s contract could be terminated.
