London –
Erik ten Hag tired of seeing performance Manchester United when defeated Tottenham Hotspur. He no longer wants to see the Red Devils players lose focus and direction.
MU got a disappointing result when they visited the Tottenham Hotspur stadium last week. They were defeated with a score of 0-2 through goals from Pape Mata Sarr and suicide by Lisandro Martinez, who were all born in the second half.
Results that MU doesn’t really need to get if they can maintain their performance in the first half. In the first half, MU appeared dominant and suppressed the Tottenham defense.
Statistically, MU was more aggressive in the first half with 14 attempts, three of which were on goal. Meanwhile, Tottenham only had seven attempts with three on goal
Unfortunately, Sarr’s quick goal at the start of the second half undermined MU’s mentality so it was difficult to get up and eventually lost. This is what Ten Hag doesn’t want to happen when MU faces Nottingham Forest, Saturday (26/8/2023) evening WIB.
Playing at home is certainly an advantage that MU must maximize from the start. Ten Hag asked his players to focus throughout the fight and get the win.
Moreover, from the first two matches, Ten Hag has not seen MU perform as he wishes.
“During the first 35 minutes of the match against Tottenham, we played very well,” Ten Hag said ESPN.
“Spurs can’t do anything at all, and suddenly they (MU players) are distracted from their focus, no longer doing their job properly.”
“They don’t run anymore or do it at the wrong time, too late. Especially the forwards don’t shut down opponents.”
“Yes, that’s what it demands as a player and a member of the Manchester United team. I’m not used to it, because they always do it.”
