Manchester United manager Eric ten Haag was understandably disappointed with Saturday’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur, but was positive about the way the players completed their duties.
United lost their first away game of the season, despite threatening the opposition defense throughout the game with Papesar’s opening goal in the second half and Lisandro Martinez’s own goal.
Ten Haag was asked at the post-match press conference how he would rate United’s performance against Tottenham.
Coach Ten Haag expressed his disappointment at the defeat, but praised the performance in the first half and the way the game was played.
“It is important to keep your faith. I always find an argument to explain performance, but I don’t think that way.”
“I think the team came together. We continued to fight without collapsing, and created opportunities. There was also a great opportunity for Anthony.”
