Jesse Lingard has named FC Barcelona legends Ronaldinho and Andres Iniesta as his dream teammates.
Jesse Lingard established his Dream Team and chose Cristiano Ronaldo, his current Manchester United colleague, as the man he would most like to exchange his life with one day.
The England international has rubbed shoulders with plenty of talent at club and international level over the years, and has taken on some of the best footballers in the world.
However, he never had the opportunity to face two players he holds in very high regard, the Brazilian and the Spanish world champion having close ties to Camp Nou, having left the club at the same time as Lingard faced against the Blaugrana in 2019.
Not to miss
Asked by England Football On his choice of dream teammates, Lingard said: “If I could play alongside a player in world football history it would be …. Ronaldinho. and Iniesta.
“These are the two players I watched very often growing up. Ronaldinho was an incredible player and the same was true for Iniesta.
“I always watched the way Iniesta carried the ball and the way he slipped into small spaces. So I would say those two, 100%.”
While being a big fan of the superstars of the past, Lingard also admires iconic figures of the present.
One of them is now a club colleague at United, and Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or, even captivates the imaginations of those with whom he shares the dressing room.
