Ole Gunnar Solskjaer upset because Manchester United Now it’s hard to get a penalty. Jürgen Klopp insinuated as the reason. How come?
MU has just been eliminated from English League Cup after losing 0-1 to West Ham United in the third round a few days ago. In that match, MU actually did not look bad because it dominated.
Even MU could actually get a penalty in the 12th minute or three minutes after conceding Manuel Lanzini’s goal. Mark Noble pulled Jesse Lingard’s shirt until the Red Devils player fell.
Unfortunately, the referee ignored the foul and VAR has not been used in the third round of the English League Cup. Solskjaer was annoyed that Manchester United should have received a penalty in that match.
A few days earlier when Manchester United beat West Ham in the Premier League, there should have been a penalty after Cristiano Ronaldo was dropped twice but VAR did not consider a foul.
Failure to get this penalty is clearly detrimental to MU because they should have won more or even qualified for the fourth round of the English League Cup. Solksjaer also indirectly accused Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp of being the culprit.
Because, earlier this year Klopp complained that United had often received penalties since Solskjaer’s arrival. On the one hand, Liverpool at that time seemed to have difficulty getting similar privileges from the referee.
“We just want to get what we deserve. We should have got three penalties in the last two games. Indeed there are managers who protested last season because we got a lot of penalties, and after that it seems we are difficult to get them again,” said Solskjaer as quoted by the Telegraph.
“I really saw the difference after that. But, we leave all decisions to the referee and I hope they can make the right decision,” he continued.
Before Klopp commented, United had received six penalties from 16 matches. But, after that, there were only five penalties from 22 games until the end of the season.
