Xavi Hernandez, coach of Barcelona, u200bu200bwas warned of Marcus Rashford, the glowing scorer for Manchester United, England.
And on the floor of the “Camp Nou” stadium in the Catalan capital, the two teams will clash in an early final in the first leg of the round of 16 of the European League competition.
Hernandez flirted with Rashford, saying, “He is one of the most dangerous strikers on the European continent today, without a doubt.”
And the 43-year-old continued, “He’s fast, he’s good at playing man-to-man, and we’ll have to watch him closely..and we’ve studied what Manchester United are doing. They’re very quick to move into an attacking position.”
Hernandez also praised Eric ten Hag, who has been in charge of the technical management at Old Trafford since May 2022.
The former Spanish international confirmed between 2000 and 2014, “He is a great coach. Turning things upside down at Manchester United was not an easy task.”
And Hernandez went on, “He (Ten Hag) diversifies the player in attack and defense, and they work together very well. He is a coach who likes to attack, and he proves that in almost every match he has.”
Hernandez was asked if he thought Barcelona was the closest to winning the European League title, to admit, “I don’t think we are the favourites.”
“There are a lot of things that will be decided in the second leg (against Manchester United) … and there are many very good teams in this competition. It is very difficult,” explained the man, who previously played in the Qatar Stars League.
