Manchester United Extends Sponsorship Deal with Adidas until 2035, Yielding Over 1 Billion Euros

Manchester United extended the contract with clothing sponsor adidas on Monday by ten years until 2035. According to English media, the new deal will yield the superpower more than 1 billion euros.

Adidas returned as United’s sponsor in 2015. At the time, the sports brand entered into a ten-year agreement of around 900 million euros.

“The relationship between Manchester United and adidas is one of the most iconic in the sporting world,” say director Richard Arnold on United’s site.

According to the BBC adidas does demand that manager Erik ten Hag continues to perform well with United. The top club would receive much less money if it failed to qualify for the Champions League for two seasons in a row.

Ten Hag qualified for the ball of millions in his debut season at United. The top club finished third in the Premier League behind Arsenal and champions Manchester City. United won the League Cup at the expense of Newcastle United last season.

United has been placed in pot 2 in the draw for the Champions League. The draw for the group stage will take place on August 31. United will start the Premier League season on August 14 with a home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
