Ten Hag made the big decision to bench Rashford in the match against Wolves even though the midfielder was out.
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has removed Marcus Rashford from his starting line-up for the duel against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday (31/12) night WIB.
Rashford has scored twice in two games for United since returning to strengthen the Red Devils after returning home from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Surprisingly, however, the fiery England international was dropped from Ten Hag’s starting XI for the trip to Wolves at Molineux. Instead, Argentine prodigy Alejandro Garnacho was assigned to replace him.
Why was Rashford excluded?
There are no detailed reasons regarding the removal of Rashford, who is actually in his best form with United after returning from Qatar.
However, when asked by BT Sport before the kick-off match at Molineux, Ten Hag only briefly replied that the reason for the star’s omission was due to “internal discipline”.
Rashford sticks out after Ronaldo leaves
Ten Hag made a big decision by dropping Rashford as the striker is the team’s top scorer this season with 10 goals and has recorded four assists in 21 games.
Rashford has once again become a mainstay in United’s front row, who are now without last season’s top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, who opted to leave in November.
