Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez understands the screams of Andre Onana, the star goalkeeper of the Red Devils, at their colleague Harry Maguire.
Maguire lost the ball in the friendly match against Borussia Dortmund, and the opponent launched an attack against Onana’s goal, and the latter was seen scolding Maguire and shouting at him on the field.
Martinez downplayed the importance of the incident, stressing that nothing happened between them, and that such matters are part of football. Rather, Martinez considered that the intensity of Onana, who previously played alongside him in the Dutch ranks of Ajax Amsterdam, serves Manchester United.
Martinez explained, “This is good for our defense line, so you have the right to quarrel with your colleagues, you have to make everyone at the top of his focus.”
He continued, in statements reported by the English newspaper “Daily Mail”, saying: “Onana has a strong personality, he can play football, he can deal with pressure, he is a very positive and leadership person, and that is the style of Manchester United.”
Martinez concluded his remarks, saying, “We have to be better and stronger mentally, because football is a mental game, in which you cannot sleep.”
