I think it’s amazing to see that Ronaldo and Messi could really do whatever they wanted in Spain and everyone played for them.
Since this season there has already been a drop in performance, just like with Messi who is a miserable 2 goals in the league. Also, it’s not the Messi he was at Barca anymore. He’s definitely still world class, but nothing like before.
I’m still convinced that although they were always in a class of their own, it was the duel in LaLiga that made them legends. This constant push, goals or salary is missing a lot mmn.
But I am grateful that I was able to experience the two. Something like that will probably never happen again. There are enough great kickers, but the two were a number in their own right.
