This is a very different Chelsea to the one we faced back in October last year at Stamford Bridge. What do you expect from this match?
“We know that they have great players. So, we have a difficult job to do. We have a complicated task ahead of us, but we have faith and we are confident. If we have the right plan, the right attitude and good team spirit, we’re going to be able to do it.”
You have faced Frank Lampard twice this season with Everton. Can this background help you prepare for this match?
“Yes, I know that Lampard always prepares his teams very well, as we have seen this when we faced Everton twice. We also saw it this weekend against Manchester City. He did a great job at home. Watching the game, I think the tie was justified. He didn’t make it, but his team played very well. So, we know that we have to be at our best level if we want to get the right result tomorrow.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka surprised after the World Cup. How impressed are you with his performances both in defense and attack?
“He has improved a lot like several players this season. Achieving that is one of the jobs of the coach and his coaching staff. Therefore, we are very happy with the development of our footballers. Team spirit should always be the basis. If the players understand that and can put their egos aside, I think the team will be able to develop and progress. And in that team progress, the individuals will also advance a lot”.
