Manchester United lost 4-3 at FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on an exciting evening. The team of coach Erik ten Hag, which is under a lot of pressure due to poor results, led 0-2 and 2-3, but could not hold out against the Danes with one man less.

Due to the defeat, United, disappointing eighth in the Premier League, must fear European elimination. ‘The Reds’ are last in group A with three points, Copenhagen and Galatasaray have one point more.

Real, Bayern, Inter in Sociedad door

On the other fields, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Internazionale and Real Sociedad qualified for the next round, while PSV is once again fully participating in group B with a 1-0 win over RC Lens.

Copenhagen-United was stopped twice in the first half. First because of a fan who entered the field with a Palestinian flag, then because of a medical emergency in the stands.

Medics crossed the field to help. The person in question was then carried out of the stadium on a stretcher to loud applause.

At that moment United were leading 0-1. Rasmus Højlund then thought he would be the man of the evening. After opening the score for United, he also scored 0-2 against the club where he made his debut in professional football.

Red Rashford

A red card for Marcus Rashford threw a spanner in the works. The Manchester attacker stepped on Elias Jelert’s ankle during a game and had to leave the field. The Danes gained confidence with one man more and drew level before half time.

After Mohamed Elyounoussi’s tying goal, the score was 2-2 in the tenth of thirteen minutes of stoppage time: Diogo Goncalves converted a penalty after a handball from Harry Maguire.

In the second half the ball hit the spot at the other end. Maguire headed against the arm of Lukas Lerager. Bruno Fernandes unwrapped the present: 2-3.

United waited another twenty hard minutes to get the lead over the line and Ten Hag saw his team go down. Thanks to goals from Lerager (3-3) and the 17-year-old talent Roony Bardghji, it became 4-3 for Copenhagen.

Bayern round continues

In the same group, Bayern Munich won 2-0 against Galatasaray. Just like two weeks ago in Istanbul, Bayern had difficulty with Galatasaray at home for a long time, but the Germans have Harry Kane.

Kane made the difference with two goals in the last ten minutes: 2-0. Bayern is assured of a place in the last sixteen with the full twelve points from four games.

Madrid passes Braga without any problems

In group C, Real Madrid, without bringing Jude Bellingham off the bench, won 3-0 against Braga. The Spaniards have thus advanced to the eighth finals.

Braga failed to take the lead early in the match at the Bernabeu. Alvaro Djalo aimed from the spot, but Andriy Lunin saved the penalty. The Ukrainian goalkeeper proves to be a worthy replacement for Thibaut Courtois under the bar in Madrid. Together they saved three of the last four penalties the club conceded.

Real then put its affairs in order. Brahim Diaz opened the scoring in the first half. After the break, the Brazilian vanguard created excitement. Vinicius made it 2-0 after a nice attack, and Rodrygo made it 3-0 with a marker.

Union Berlin takes a point at Napoli

Union Berlin surprisingly picked up a point – also in group C – when it visited Napoli (1-1). A boost for the Germans, who lost the previous twelve games in all competitions. It did not yield much, because with two rounds of play to go, Union Berlin was eliminated from the Champions League.

After a disallowed goal by Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Matteo Politano gave Napoli the lead. After the break the visitors leveled. From a sharp counter, Sheraldo Becker came across goalkeeper Alex Meret, the rebound was prey for David Fofana: 1-1.

Napoli, which dominated most of the match, still had chances, but was stuck at a draw.
