Greek authorities have confirmed that they have arrested Manchester United’s English captain, Harry Maguire, after a brawl that occurred on the Greek island of Mykonos.
According to the Sun newspaper, former Leicester City player Maguire got into a fight with two men outside a bar on the Greek island, in the early hours of the morning.
The problem was exacerbated after Maguire and a group of his friends refused to enter the police station, which brought them into a confrontation with the security men, which resulted in insults directed at the player to the police, according to local sources.
And Manchester United announced Friday that its captain Harry Maguire is “now fully cooperating” with the Greek authorities, after news of his arrest after an incident on the island of Mykonos.
The club said it was “aware of an alleged incident” involving the England defender on Thursday and had contacted him.
It is noteworthy that the “Red Devils” players are on vacation after the end of their season by losing in the semi-finals of the “Europa League” on Sunday, against Seville, Spain.
Maguire is considered the most expensive defender in the world, after he signed for Manchester United from Leicester City last year, in a deal worth $ 97 million.
