Two different markets
The transfer market for Manchester United and Liverpool has been different for both teams. The Red Devils have sought to have an active period in which strengthening the most important positions in the squad was a priority. Giving Ten Hag a vote of confidence, the club has also brought in players who are well known to him.
Zirkzee, Yoro, De Ligt, Mazraoui and Ugarte have been the names that have arrived at Old Trafford. Three defenders to improve the back line, a midfielder for the present and the future to provide competition, and a ‘9’ to increase the goalscoring figures.
At Liverpool, however, the transfer window has been mostly quiet. Although it seemed that the Reds wanted to make a big effort for Zubimendi, the Real Sociedad midfielder ended up staying in San Sebastian to continue his future. In response, the club signed Chiesa up front and brought in Mamardashvili in goal.
