The Football Association announced the results of the draw for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after Liverpool’s derby against Manchester City on Thursday night.
The games of the previous round ended on the impact of the Reds’ summit against City, which ended in favor of the latter, with a score of three goals to two.
The draw resulted in Manchester City facing Southampton at the latter’s home ground, while neighbors Manchester United meet Charlton, who made a surprise by eliminating Brighton on penalties at Old Trafford.
In the rest of the fixtures, Newcastle will play Leicester City in a Premier League-style match at the first stadium, while Wolverhampton meet their counterparts, Nottingham Forest, at the ‘Molineux’ stadium.
The quarter-finals will start on January 9th, while the final will be played at “Wembley” on February 24th.
