Manchester City did not need to exert their full strength to beat Chelsea 1-0 in their English Premier League championship party match.
- Man City have already won the English Premier League after Arsenal lost
- Lower the second tier versus Chelsea
- Stay mighty in the champion’s party
WHAT HAPPENED?
Manchester City celebrated their championship party perfectly, beating Chelsea 1-0 with a second-tier team and recording their 12th successive win in the Premier League, Sunday (21/5) at the Etihad Stadium.
After locking in the Premier League title via Arsenal’s defeat yesterday, Team B City got guard of honor from the luxury squad The Blues. Then, 12 minutes later, Pep Guardiola’s squad opened the scoring after taking advantage of Wesley Fofana’s blunder.
Fofana’s pass found a City player, then the ball traveled forward through Cole Palmer, before finding Julian Alvarez. The young striker beat Kepa Arrizabalaga with ease, the Chelsea keeper should have been able to block the ball better.
DO YOU KNOW?
This defeat is milestone embarrassing for Chelsea. For the first time in their history, The Blues lost six times in a row against one opposition without scoring a single goal across competitions. The last time they beat Man City was in the 2020/21 Champions League final, where they won with a score of 1-0.
NEXT FOR CHELSEA & MANCHESTER CITY:
The Citizens will get Guard of Honor from Brighton when they visited their headquarters on Thursday (25/5) in the morning WIB, meanwhile The Blues will return to Manchester for a visit to Manchester United 24 hours later.
