Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is off the mark and Twitter didn’t disappoint with his reaction

Erling Braut Haaland converted from the penalty spot in the first half against West Ham United, and fans on Twitter are loving that he was out of the picture.

The Norwegian opened his account after being knocked down in the box by Hammers substitute goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who replaced Lukasz Fabianski following the Poland international’s injury.

The 22-year-old celebrated with his celebration of yoga, with fans around the world talking on the social media platform with over 9,000 likes and 1,200 retweets in 15 minutes.

Some fans even got creative with Jean Silva coming up with a reference to Thor, the Norse god of thunder.

The club were quick to receive as many messages as possible about the new striker’s score, with some fans wasting no time getting the celebration wallpaper picture for their phones.

Other references to the celebration of yoga were used to call Haaland the goat and say “The first of a long series”.

One person on Twitter was keen to highlight his goalscoring record on his full debut for clubs, with him scoring in all six, which now included City.

Post-match talks will focus on that celebration, but for Haaland he will be happy to get on the scoresheet and open his Premier League account with his boyhood club as his family watches from the stands of the London stadium.
