Jamie O’Hara believes Manchester City would be “a better team” if they had signed Harry Kane instead of Erling Haaland.
The Tottenham forward has been in sensational form this season, scoring 15 goals in 18 Premier League appearances, placing him second on the league’s top goalscorers list.
Of course, number one on the list is City Haaland, who have scored a staggering 21 goals in 16 appearances for the holders.
At 22, the Norwegian striker is arguably considered the best striker in world football, but according to former Spurs player O’Hara, Kane would actually be a better player for the team than Pep Guardiola.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, O’Hara said: “I watch it all the time and I don’t know where Spurs would be without Harry Kane because he comes up every week.
“Everyone is talking about Haaland this season because his goalscoring record has been incredible, but Harry Kane with Tottenham has also been sensational.
“He almost scores a goal a game. Whenever he’s on the pitch, he scores for us and he also scores all kinds of goals: the header he scored against Brentford was incredible, he’s doubling them and scoring from outside the box.
“I think he is one of the best strikers in the world.
“I look at Haaland and I look at Man City, if Harry Kane played for Man City I think Man City would be a better team than they are now.
“I know Haaland scores a lot of goals and it’s really ridiculous but to me Harry Kane is actually a better player. I think he is one of the best number nines and tens in the world.
“Many Man City fans talk about how Haaland is so good but they trust him so much and that all he does is finish, but some of them say we could be better here and there, if Harry Kane played for Man City. They would be a better team”
Kane however remained at Tottenham and already has 15 goals in the Premier League this season.
He’s also in Jimmy Greaves’ goalscoring record of 266.
The Tottenham manager said: “I think talking about Harry, I think we waste some time explaining what kind of player he is. I repeat, we are talking about a real world-class striker and he is about to break all records with goals.
“For us he is an important reference, not only in goal but also on the pitch and with Hugo [Lloris] our captain. Especially in difficult moments, Harry, you know he’s ready to fight, ready to help his teammates, ready to fix the situation with a goal, with an assist.
