Erling Braut Haaland still on the injury list. But Manchester City still won.
This after a turnaround, 3–1, away to Everton.
Manchester City has had to do without Norwegian superstar Erling Braut Haaland in recent matches. The 23-year-old has problems with a foot injury and was also not in the squad against Everton.
Then it was also Everton who took the lead. Jack Harrison, who previously belonged to City, made it 1-0.
A dark blue bang in the making? Not.
The reigning champions would turn around and win. First it was Phil Foden who equalised. Then it was Julian Alvarez who gave City the lead from the penalty spot. The final score was 3–1 to City after Bernardo Silva capitalized on a sloppy play from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
For Chelsea there was also a victory during the evening, 2–1 against Crystal Palace. Noni Madueke decided on penalties in the closing stages. Elsewhere in London, Wolverhampton won 4–1 away to Brentford.
