Tottenham took the lead at the end of the first half when Kulusevski and Emerson Royal set up in the 44th minute. After the break, however, the visitors squandered the lead just as quickly. In the 51st minute, Álvarez reduced and in the 53rd, Haaland equalized.
Mahriz then decided the win for the home team. The Algerian striker put City, who were looking to atone for their previous derby loss to Manchester United, into the lead in the 63rd minute and added an equalizer in the 90th minute.
City, in second place in the table, are five points behind first-placed Arsenal, who, however, have played a game less. After two defeats in a row, Tottenham is a significant distance away in fifth place, which is the last to guarantee a start in European cups.
