City’s success in beating Sheffield did not only result in a final ticket. The Manchester giants also set a rare record in English football.
City is the team that can get to the FA Cup final without conceding a goal since the start of the tournament. From five matches, the goal of the Blue Sky team is still safe from the opponent’s goal.

City are now the first team to qualify for the FA Cup final with a record of not conceding at all, since Everton last did so in the 1965/1966 season. That is, City equaled a record that lasted almost six decades.
