He Manchester City announced through its official media that it submitted an application to the Manchester City Council for the development of an entertainment plan and various experiences for its fans at the Etihad Stadium. The proposals include various connected and fully integrated facilities in the stadiumcentered around a North Stand that would be extended with a single larger upper level above the existing lower level, thus increasing capacity to over 60,000 seats. In addition, in the new space, the idea is to include a sky bar with views of the field, together with an experience of walking on the roof of the stadium.
The club also proposed creating a meeting place indoor fan zone in the Town Square, with capacity for 3,000 people and a wide variety of food and drink outlets, a new club shop, a museum y a hotel for 400 people approximately. A workspace for use by new organizations looking to locate and collaborate with Club members, City Football Group y Etihad Campus it is also included in the planning presentation.
As shown by the City, the hotel and food and beverage outlets are situated on the left hand side of the development with all other facilities contained on the right hand side. The club’s proposals represent an investment of over £300m through a major construction project that would take up to 3 years to complete and provide 2,600 jobs for city people.
