Man City is still perfect until the fifth week Premier League 2023/2024. Erling Haaland et al are also comfortable at the top of the standings with 15 points.
Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal are trailing behind Man City with each collecting 13 points. Brighton & Hove Albion fills fifth place with 12 points.
Even though it is currently still superior to its rivals, Manchester City still reluctant to be proud. Pep Guardiola said their opponents could provide resistance to The Sky Blues.
“We will experience a decline this season. Several important teams are taking distance now,” said Guardiola when asked by journalists ahead of the Man City vs Red Star Belgrade match, as reported by Liverpool Echo.
“You know how strong Arsenal are, I saw their game at Goodison Park – they were incredible. Liverpool, once again, their mentality continues,” he continued.
A reporter then asked Guardiola about Manchester United. Guardiola then laughed and said the Red Devils had not started the season well.
MU did perform badly at the start of this season, suffering 3 defeats and winning 2 wins. Erik ten Hag’s troops are stuck in 13th place in the Premier League standings, ahead Chelsea which is right underneath it.
“Hehe well they didn’t start the way they usually do – just like Chelsea. But Man United and Chelsea always, sooner or later, will find their rhythm again,” Pep Guardiola said.
