Games will be played in February and March
Manchester City FC are the opponents of Sporting Clube de Portugal’s main football team in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The first leg will be played at the Estádio José Alvalade, on the 15th of February, while the second will be played on the 9th of March at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England.
Sporting CP and Manchester City FC have only met twice in history, measuring forces in the round of 16 of the Europa League 2011/2012, with the Leonina team taking the best of it. In Alvalade, Sporting CP won by 1-0 and in England they beat the English team by 3-2, with the Lions benefiting from away goals that, currently, no longer count.
Remember that this draw for the round of 16 of the Champions League, held this Monday in Nyon, Switzerland, had to be repeated due to an error. In the first draw, Sporting CP faced Juventus FC.
