LONDON – Manchester City football players could not beat Crystal Palace at home in the 17th round of the English Premier League on Saturday and only drew 2:2.

In the fourth minute of added time, Michael Olise scored a point for the London club, converting a penalty kick. Slovak goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka kept a clean sheet and helped Newcastle to a 3-0 victory over Fulham.

The defending champions failed to take full advantage for the fourth time out of the past five league meetings, of which they drew for the third time. Against Crystal Palace, they were leading 2-0 with a quarter of an hour to go after goals from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis. But in the 76th minute, Jean-Philippe Mateta found a pass from Jeffery Schlupp and reduced it. At the very end, Phil Foden fouled Matetu in the penalty area, and French midfielder Olise scored the final draw from the penalty spot.

In Newcastle’s fight with Fulham, there was no fight between Slovakian goalkeepers. Martin Dúbravka on the home side watched the entire meeting, but Marek Rodák sat only on the Fulham bench. All the goals were scored after the break, and the “magpies” enjoyed a full point gain after two of three losses (in the league against Everton and Tottenham and in the LM against AC Milan). The guests played from the 22nd minute without the suspended Raul Jimenez.
