Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – English club Manchester City defeated its Japanese counterpart, Urawa Red Diamonds, with three unanswered goals, in a confrontation held at the Radiant Jewel Stadium, on Tuesday, in the semi-finals of the 2023 Club World Cup.
The Citizens team succeeded in scoring its three goals in the 45+, 52, and 59 minutes of the match, due to an error by the opposing player, Kovacic, and Bernardo Silva.
The English club reached the final of the Club World Cup, which is being hosted by Saudi Arabia in its current edition, to face its Brazilian counterpart, Fluminense, who beat the Egyptian club, Al-Ahly, with two unanswered goals.
The Red Giants, champions of the African Champions League, will play against Urawa Red Diamonds, the holders of the AFC Champions League, in the third-place match for one of the largest tournaments around the world, next Friday.
