“Manchester City Conquers Sheffield United 3-0 to Reach FA Cup Final 2022/2023”

Manchester City drove to FA Cup Final 2022/2023. This is after Citizenz conquered Sheffield United 3-0 via hat-trick Riyad Mahrez.

In the semifinal match which was held at Wembley Stadium, Saturday (22/4/202023) evening WIB, Mahrez scored one goal in the first half and the rest in the second half.

Thus, City is just waiting for the winner of the other semifinal, Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United, Sunday (23/4/2023) evening WIB.

City were threatened by Sheffield in the second minute when a corner kick situation created chaos in the penalty box. Iliman Ndiaye leaked the ball in front of goal but Stefan Ortega was able to brush it off.

After that, City were able to control the match as usual and did not give Sheffield the opportunity to develop their game. City, which fielded Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, played dominantly from the early minutes.

Riyad Mahrez had a chance to make a free kick in the 22nd minute but the ball hit the living fence and only went wide. A minute later it was Alvarez’s turn to test the toughness of Sheffield goalkeeper, Wes Foderingham, even though he was pushed over.

City who continued to press finally scored in the 41st minute after being awarded a penalty because Bernardo Silva was fouled. Mahrez as the executor successfully outwitted Foderingham to make the score 1-0 which lasted until halftime.

Entering the second half, City still controlled the match. Haaland almost scored a goal in the 55th minute if Sergi Gomez’s cross was not sideways.

Mahrez listed his name on the scoreboard again in the 61st minute. Mahrez grabbed the ball in the middle of the field and made a solo run from the right. He outwitted one player first before breaking into the nets of Foderingham in a corner.

Mahrez! The Algerian scored a hat-trick five minutes later. Jack Grealish got a long ball from the right and cut in from the left, past his marker, before pulling the ball in which Mahrez found.

Winning three goals made City more comfortable in controlling the match and chose to relax the pressure. Alvarez almost got City’s fourth goal had he not fired wide in the 89th minute.

No more goals were created until the end of the match and Manchester City also qualified for the 2022/2023 FA Cup final!
