Manchester City confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland for the next five seasons for an amount of around 51 million pounds (about 55 million euros).
The 21-year-old Norwegian will join City on July 1 on a five-year contract until the summer of 2027.
In his two-and-a-half seasons at Borussia Dortmund, Haaland scored 86 goals in 89 games, earning him a German Cup and an individual award for best Bundesliga player in 2020/2021.
With his signing for City, Haaland emulates his father Alfie, who came to the English club 22 years ago and played 38 games for the Celestes until a Roy Keane tackle shattered his knee and retired him from professional football.
“It’s a very proud day for me and my family. I’ve always watched City and loved them in recent seasons. You can’t help but like their style of play. It’s inspiring and they create a lot of scoring chances, which It’s perfect for a player like me,” Haaland told the club.
