Manchester City qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup, after beating hosts Chelsea 4-0 in the match that brought them together today, Sunday, in the third round of the tournament.
Manchester City’s goals were scored by Riyad Mahrez (two goals) in the 23rd and 85th minute penalty kicks, Julian Alvarez in the 30th minute penalty kick and Phil Foden in the 38th minute.
This is the sides’ second match in three days, having met last Thursday in the Premier League, and Manchester City won 1-0.
Manchester City will meet the winner of the match between Oxford and Arsenal in the fourth round, which is played tomorrow, Monday.
Third tier Stevenage also qualified after beating Aston Villa 2/1.
Aston Villa advanced with a goal scored by Morgan Sanson in the 33rd minute, before Stevenage scored twice through Jimmy Reed in the 88th minute, from a penalty kick and a full penalty in the first minute of time calculated instead of losing the match .
The encounter saw Aston Villa player Leander Denunker sent off in the 85th minute.
Derby County also qualified for the fourth round after beating Barnsley 3-0
Goals for Derby County were scored by James Collins in the last minute of the first half from a penalty kick, Tom Parkhuizen in the 60th minute and Jason Knight in the 79th minute.
While Bristol City and Swansea City will have to play a second leg after drawing 1/1 today.
Swansea City advanced with a goal scored by Joel Berroy in the 15th minute and Bristol City equalized through Antoine Cimeno in the 75th minute.
Blackburn Rovers also qualified for the fourth round after defeating Norwich City with a clean goal scored by Jack Valle in the 31st minute.
Stoke City also qualified for the fourth round, beating Hartlepool 3-0.
Stoke City’s goals were scored by Hartlepool player Ioan Murray with a mistake in his own goal in the 16th minute, Jacob Brown in the 43rd minute and Hartlepool player Rollin Manise with a mistake in his own goal in the 48th minute.
Walsall qualified for the fourth round by beating Stockport 2/1.
Walsall’s goals were scored by Edney Johnson and Andrew Williams in the 63rd and final minute of the match from penalties, while Stockport Paddy Maddy scored in the 88th minute.
While Leeds United and Cardiff City will play the rematch after drawing 2/2.
Leeds Rodrigo and Sonny Perkins scored in the 65th and final minutes of the match, while Cardiff City scored Jaden Bedas and Che Ojo in the 24th and 31st minutes.
The match saw Cardiff City player Joel Bagan sent off in the 80th minute.
