Manchester City beat Brentford 2-1 with a double from Erling Haaland

London. With two goals from Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, Manchester City defeated Brentford 2-1 today and maintained their perfect run in the English Premier League.

Senegalese Yoane Wissa stunned the thousands of fans gathered at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium with an early goal in the first minute, giving the visitors an immediate lead.

However, City kept their cool and Haaland managed to equalise in the 19th minute, much to the relief of the home team.

The Scandinavian striker himself sealed the comeback with another goal in the 32nd minute, which ultimately proved decisive, and reaffirmed himself as the leading scorer in the competition and in all European leagues, with nine goals in just four matches.

In this way, the team led by the Spaniard Josep Guardiola maintained the perfect pace in the Premier with 12 points out of 12 possible, and reaffirmed its position at the top of the championship.

It is worth remembering that City won the title in the last four editions of the Premierand in six of the last seven, an absolute atrocity.

Also on Saturday, Nottingham Forest produced the biggest surprise of the day by beating Liverpool 1-0 away, with a solitary goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Manchester United also beat Southampton 3-0, Crystal Palace-Leicester (2-2) and Brighton-Ipswich (0-0).

In the middle of the table, Fulham (11th) and West Ham (14th) drew (1-1) with a goal from the Mexican Raúl Jiménez for the Cottagers.
